1st P-day in Trento |

July 19 2000
Well, it's my 1st P-day in Trento, I'll have been here a week tomorrow. So far I've been having a really good time. We've been going to a boat-full of appointments these days. I hope we're able to keep up the pace even after Elder Barson takes off. We have 2 contacts that are preparing for baptism:
MARIANO: He's a very unique man. Most people think he's gay when they meet him, we don't think so. He's very open to the message and really feels the spirit. Personally I just think he's quite emotionally immature, but he wants to be baptised & that's better than I can say for a lot of people.
CHEEMA: This is an awesome Muslim man. Yes, he's Muslim and he has a B.D.! He started reading the B.O.M. in his native tongue (Pakistany) and he loves it. Now he's heard 3 discussions & has a date for this weekend. We're not sure if it will go through or not because it's quite hard for Muslims to be baptised (ie change religions) and then remain alive. Plus, we want to be sure he understands all of what baptism means. President Curtis and the area authorities are going to have the final say on it. The coolest thing about him is his excitement to do missionary work. He's already started plans to tae it (the BoM) to his country and the surrounding areas. He says: I'l be perfect 'cause I speak all the different languages & dialects so I'll be able to preach clearly to everyone - Then he says: They NEED to know about this! Hopefully everything goes well.
Last night we had an appointment with a nice young family. We did a controllo about the BoM - The part that hit me was a testimony of Anz. Haws. In his very broken Italian he managed to bring the spirit in stronger than I thought was possible, just by bearing his sweet, honest, sincere testimony. You could just feel it in the room, and it touched all our hearts. GRANDE!
