Greeny Reprimand
Sept: Oct 2 2000:
Well, today we had Zone Conference that went really well. My battery is recharged. This last week was amazing. We taught 11 discussions and gave out 22 books of Mormon. Those are the highest numbers I've ever had. It was almost shocking to see it happen. I think it was a good start to Elder Guiler's mission. I hope we can keep up the good work.

Last night I did have a humbling experience though - I had to be chastised by my greeny. We were having District meeting and I thought our week was just great - We did like most missionaries do: 80% of the time on the street looking for people and the rest in our few regular appointments. My new missionary read directly out of the missionary guide how we should plan our week - the message was that we should be a lot more constructive and effective with our time - yeah... take time to find people, but also take time to help them progress. And don't just go out and do the same thing every day - plan the week constructively and specifically.

Well, after I swallowed my comments about being older and wiser and more experienced in the mission (and realized he was right) we planned our week according to the missionary guide. Now we have a full week that really looks exciting. That's the great thing about a new missionary: he hasn't been roboticized into the "Italy Padova Street Machine" - I'm glad he pulled my plug - this will change my whole mission.

Last night we also taught Luigi (Sjlvie's "Husband") a first. It went really well...
