Zone Leader in Bologna |
|
14 Dic 2000 -
Well, here I am getting transferred. What a shock. I'm on the train to Bologna w/ a new calling as Zone Leader. What does that mean? I don't know - but I'm sure it spells responsibility. Great.
Trento was the hardest city so far for me to leave. I was really involved emotionally and spiritually w/ our members and contacts. It's like I've had to leave my family again. I do feel good knowing, though, that I did good work in Trento. I worked hard and, grazie a Dio, I got to see some fruits come about. I'm very grateful for the stupendous 5 months I spent there.
I remember 9 months ago riding this train the other way and seeing hills sprout up along the path and eventually grow into towering mountains. Now I'm returning to the flat lands (though I hear Bologna is a bit hilly) it will be a whole new world.
Christmas in a new city. How fun. Bologna is directly in the center of the mission. It's one of the biggest cities in our mission. As a Zone Leader I'll be visiting Ravenna and Ferrara. (The other 2 cities in our Zone) There are 6 missionaries in Bologna - 2 sisters and 4 Elders - that will be quite a change from my 2 man city. The transfer feeling is always the same: Excitement and Sadness. It tears your heart in 2. Transfers force you to put your trust in the Lord because you can never prepare things enough by yourself - There's just no time. A well.... FAITH!
