Christmas Eve - Fratello Veronese - Horse
Dec 24 2000 - CHRISTMAS EVE -
O.K. Today was a day to remember. We went to church this morning... I noticed a man there who had never been there before. I came to find out that his name was fratello Veronese, an old member that had recently had a falling away from the church because he disagrees w/ the way some leaders lead the church.

During the meeting he asked my companion (Anz. Taylor) if we could give him a blessing. Anz. Taylor asked me to do it because he's known this man for a while and has some pre-judgements, while I've never seen him before. Before giving him the blessing I talked to him for a second and learned a bit about him.

Anz. Taylor annointed him and I blessed him - it was really interesting - I felt very moved by the spirit to say certain things to him. During the blessing he began crying. Afterward he mentioned that I had mentioned something that I couldn't have known. I had said that God wanted him to strengthen his son and help him return to church. I didn't know that his son was far from the church, but recently he had fallen away. He was very touched by the blessing.

But for about 5 minutes after the blessing he poured out all his hard feelings toward the church and his reasons why. Anz. Taylor and I just stood there and listened. When he had vented all of his steam I asked if I could mention something... I then explained in a few sentences that his rebellious attitude was a problem and that the church would continue on w/out him and that it is God's church. He took it very humbly and asked how he could do it. I just said that it would be an inner battle and it would need to be accompanied by prayer.

Then we kneeled and he prayed. It was a very spiritual experience and I really felt like I had been an instrument in God's hands. Then we went to the Marcasini's for lunch and ate horse.
