First Sunday in the MTC |
|
Oct 17, 1999:
Today was my first Sunday at the MTC. It was very nice...not because it was spiritually uplifting (although it definitely was) but because we had all sorts of free time and I got to take a nice LONG nap.
Tonight we had a very cool fireside. We all went to the gym and president Edmund & his wife spoke about all sorts of stuff, but especially about music. It was a very unique program because they had us all (all the missionaries) sing a bunch of songs. The one that I liked best was the song: "The Armies of Helaman." It was cool because they changed the words to fit us: Instead of: "We will be the Lord's missionaries" they changed it to: "And we are now the Lord's missionaries." It was neat...and besides, that's an awesome song anyway.
Something else that's funny: Another district, in an attempt to get back at us for last night's festivities, put a set of vacuum cleaners under our beds and shut off the breaker to the sockets under our beds so, in the middle of the night, they can turn on the breaker & scare us while we are fast asleep. Fortunately, our A.P. told us about it so we wouldn't retaliate & so this whole conflict can die. But I think it would have been quite funny.
