Final Day as a Proselyting Missionary |
|
Oct. 2, 2001 -
Today was my last day as a proselyting missionary. I am so bummed. It's the worst feeling to think that I won't be teaching the gospel to the Italian people anymore. I feel really sad. I want it to go on forever - I don't want it to end. I was just getting the hang of all this. I was just starting to understand what being a missionary is all about. But I guess it had to end some day.
Tomorrow I'll go to Venezia to tour, then I'll have my final interview w/ Pres. Jensen - then we'll eat dinner. Then the next morning (Thursday) I'll catch the plane out of Italy.
Today we had a strong spiritual experience. Eduardo has been going ahead in his ways w/ his girl and drinking - we talked this morning and decided we would lay down the law. We did so and w/ boldness. The spirit was WAY strong and the truth was carried into his heart. He still tried to make excuses, but he KNOWS. Now the responsibility is on him.
My companion, Elder Hansen, hit him w/ the strongest/boldest most spirit filled statement ever condemning his actions. Then I gave him a blessing. I really hope he changes his heart. We also taught Silvia from English class a 2nd.
