Nov: 25 1998 - Thanksgiving:

Wow, what a day...could I have felt the spirit testify to me any stronger? This church is true, and I know it. I a so abundantly thankful for this gospel and how it affects my life. Today was a holiday at the MTC. Much free time, and talks, and musical numbers.

4 Elders from our district were featured in a musical number in front of all the MTC...they did great. We watched the movie: Legacy...which is an awesome film about the early church and the pioneers. The movie really showed me what faith is all about. And the power that faith carries. But the best part of today was the District Testimony Meeting. All of the Elders in my district bear strong testimonies. As they spoke I felt that still small voice, that leaves no doubt, telling and bearing witness of the truthfulness of this church. I am truly thankful for that experience.

Elder Batchelor bore the sweetest and most heartfelt testimony. The truthfulness of his words flowed out of his mouth to burst and fill the room. The early judgement of which I made toward Batchelor in this journal was way off. He could not have more love for us. As I bore my testimony, I spoke of faith and how wonderful it is when you begin to see the fruits of your faith and also to taste them. This truly is a landmark day in my mission.

My one prayer for today is that I never forget the strength and power that I have felt. Right now I feel able to accomplish any task. But I know, from experience, that these memories will fade, I now give a commandment to myself and all who read...REMEMBER! Remember those times when the spirit has testified. Remember the times when your heart has been filled, brimmed, and overflowed. Relive those moments so hat in those times of strife or challenge you can have the confidence, courage, and strength to know that God will carry you through anything and everything. As Batchelor said: "He's right there beside you!" And I now know this to be true.
