* He withdrew into his shell worse than before and this time nobody knew what was happening with him or why. All we knew is that we were very worried about him but didn't know what to do because any attempt to reach him failed miserably.
The whole situation cast a dark spirit on our district and brought us all down. But Anziano Blackwell surprised me, he called every one of us into his room one night, individually, and apologized and asked for the chance to start over. That took a lot of courage and I respect him immensely for that.
It made it much easier to love him because he humbled himself. Things got much better from there. He started participating and actually improving in class. But alas, the spiral has started again.
He's become discouraged with the language again. This week we were told we'd be receiving a new member to our district: A native Italian who doesn't speak any English. Anziano BW decided that he would like him in his companionship w/ Anz. Eaquinto. This was fine with the rest of us as we don't really want to have a threesome anyway plus ABW thought that having someone around 24/7 speaking Italian would help him w/ the language.
Anz. Serra arrived on Wednesday...I'll tell you about him later. Unfortunately Anz. Serra has had the opposite effect for Anz. BW. Instead of helping him with the language it just frustrates him because he can't communicate at all. It HAS helped Anz. Eaquinto because he CAN communicate and gets better every day because of Anziano Serra.
But this has just forged a bigger gap between ABW and Anz. Eaquinto because Anz. Eaquinto devotes all his attention to Anz. Serra so that Anz. Serra can communicate and get by in our country. This leaves ABW out almost completely, thus his frustration and depression. Hopefully, this time, we'll be able to show him enough love to help him before it gets too far. I really don't know what to do except just be his friend.
