Girl Sighting - Last day in MTC
12-13-99:

Alright, a lot has happened the last couple of days. I finally got a letter from Carrie on Wednesday...which is good because I had a nasty letter ready to go out to her if I didn't get it. She apologized; she's just been really busy. It was sort of a pointless letter, but it had some good parts...it was just very nice to finally hear from her.

So that was cool to hear from her, and I just can't stay mad at her anyway...she's too awesome. So this Saturday, after I got done in the Temple I was sitting in the Lobby waiting for the rest of the District to get done. And. Nebeker and Eaquinto walked out a little early because they had to get some stuff done back at the MTC. About 2 minutes after they left, Anz. Nebeker comes walkin back in with the strangest smile on his face. He came up to me and said: "Guess who I saw outside waiting?" My face went nuclear, I lit up like a light. IT WAS CARRIE! Yes! So I went out and saw her, but it was kinda awkward because we hadn't seen each other for a long time and we had all these feelings and emotions going on all at once, not to mention my whole district was there gawking at her.

So we didn't say much, but it was awesome to see her. I was on cloud 9 for the rest of the day. I had received a package from her earlier that said she wasn't gonna be able to make it to the airport so I was a little bummed, until I saw her at the Temple! (It was a Christmas package that I can't open 'till Christmas) It was absolutely wonderful!

So today is the day that I left the MTC. I was able to get all my stuff into my bags quite easily even with all the new stuff I received at the MTC. We left the MTC at 5:30 a.m., it was sorta sad, but that emotion is overcome by all the excitement I have. I got to the SLC airport at about 6:30 am and I saw my Mom. It was great to see her and get to talk with her. She told me about everything that's been going on in the real world and also about how excited she is and how proud she is of me. It was sad to leave her, but again, the excitement more than made up for it.

But here's the awesome part: CARRIE CAME TO THE AIRPORT TOO! It was an amazing surprise, absolutely unexpected. She looked so good. I really wanted to give her a hug, but alas, it's against mission rules. This time it was much easier to talk to her, it was so fun. I know I've said it before but, she's and AWESOME girl. My mom pointed out something that she noticed about her; and that's her humility. My mom is so right: Carrie is beautiful, funny, smart, and has an awesome testimony, and yet she is so friendly and submissive, and humble. My mom said, "She doesn't have that haughty air of confidence that most girls like her have." Which is something I admire in her a lot.

I hope immensely that things with me and her work out. It was sad to see her go too, she looked like she was holding back tears which made me sad too. I really do love that girl.

Now my MTC experience is over, I'm on the plane to St. Louis and from there to NY and from there to Milan, and from there to Venice!

WOO HOO!
