Christmas
Well here it is Christmas, I'll write about it after I catch up on the other stuff.

Every Saturday we do what's called "La Mostra" or "il Mostro" which is a display we set up about our church down in the Piazza Roma. We set it up and try to stop passing people and teach them. We met an awesome Italian man named Domenico who was just a GOLDEN contact.

He was absolutely prepared for the Gospel and everything we taught him just made sense to him. We taught him the first discussion and gave him a Book of Mormon. He was very interested and curious about it and committed to read and pray about it.

Unfortunately he lives in another city so we won't get to teach him, but he's a great referral for the other Elders and he'll get baptised. It felt so good to know that we had touched his life in a way that's sure to change it.

After we were done teaching I just felt great...there's no better feeling in the world.

Another night we set up an appointment with a girl named Carolina. Carolina was taking the discussions from some previous Elders but hadn't been contacted in a while. She had been reading the book of Mormon and really loves it. We went there to check up on her and try to set up some more discussions.

While we were teaching my companion felt moved to invite her to be baptised. While we were teaching the Spirit was very strong. She said she wanted to, but wasn't sure and wanted to wait and receive an answer through prayer. We kept talking with her and something told me that we should pray right there, but I just shrugged it off, but it came back again, and I pushed the thought aside again. Then my companuon looked at me and said: "I feel like you have something to say."

That did it...and I said "something's telling me that we need to pray right here and now." So we knelt down and Carolina said a prayer in Spanish. (She's from Bolivia) She asked to know what was right and what she needed to do. (I understood an amazing amount of her Spanish.) When she was done, she was crying (we were teary eyed too) and she said she felt a whole lot better.

So Elder Perry invited her again. You could just see it in her eyes that she knew what to do and was just READY to be baptized. But she balked again. She said she could feel something just pushing her to do it and telling her it would be all right, but something else (her fear I think) she said was stopping her and holding her back.

So we asked her to pray and fast about a date and we fasted too. We went back just recently and she said she wanted to wait until she got back to Bolivia to be baptised, but we discussed it and set a date for the 2nd of January.

We still have to teach 2 more discussions and set up a baptismal interview...but it's looking good. I'm very excited for her. It's amazing to see how quickly I've come to love the people. I barely knew Carolina for an hour and I would do anything to help her know this Gospel. It's that way with every person I've met...it's an amazing thing. The other copia has a baptism tomorrow.
