Post-post Christmas Wrap-up, Greenie Splits
Dec 27 1999:

Okay: Now I'll finish catching up. Christmas Day we woke up and gathered at the dining table for a huge breakfast. Anz Perry made some special pancakes that you bake in the oven. They were very good. Anz Bowen made some hot chocolate. We ate a lot and it was good.

Then we gathered around the Christmas umbrella and read a chapter from Jesus the Christ and then the Christmas story in the Bible along with some passages from the BoM. It was a nice little spiritual experience. Then we opened our presents.

My mom got me, strangely, a bunch of action figures. I don't know why, but she did. Also yo-yos and other toys. They were fun to play with, but not the most practical. But I'm grateful for them. They were some of the nicest action figures I've ever seen. She also got me a couple comic (Sunday comic) books. They were funny. Also a couple festive things like a santa hat and bells and candy. Holly and Scott got me a cool pair of Scooby Doo pajamas. They are neat. Carrie got me a cool book which contains the "Lectures on Faith" from the school of the prophets in Kirtland Ohio. It's very cool and has a lot of information on Faith which I love to read about. She also got me an Italian key chain and a container of M&Ms. She got me, also, a small box of very small sea shells. She said that they are from the museum that she works at and she likes them, so they're to remind me of her. That was nice of her. Like I've said: She's a great girl.

After that we took a nap, played with our toys and cleaned up. (My mom also got me a huge cookbook that probably has every recipe ever created.) We also got to talk w/ our families which was neat, but I had just seen my mom at the airport 2 weeks earlier, so it wasn't anything earth shattering.

The day after Christmas was Sunday and the Baptism of Katia. She was baptised after church in one of the back rooms of the apartment that the church is in, in a portable baptismal font. Everything went well but both senior comps were stressing out, BIG TIME, about the whole thing.

Everything turned out fine though. It was funny, the rod used to heat the baptismal font kept tripping the breaker to the apartment so eventually it was decided not to use it. Therefore, the font was quite cold. Afterward we made American Chili for Katia and she enjoyed it. She's a nice lady who's been through a lot. I think the church will help her to have a happy life.

And now I'm finally caught up and I can write about today. Today went normally. The only thing really special was that Anz. Ditto and I went on "Greenie Splits" and we are VERY green. We did street contacting. Surprisingly we did very well and got 3 phone numbers. I know the Lord was helping us a lot because we prayed before, to be able to be successful because we were feeling a little inadequate. I believe our prayer was answered. Now I'm very tired (like usual at the end of the day) So...Ci Vediamo!
