Dec 31 1999 - LAST DAY OF THE Millennium
Yes - it's the last day of the year and this century. We hung out with the members tonight because everyone in Italy is partying. It was alright, but we're pretty tired.
We decided to have our countdown celebration at 10:00 because we have to be in bed by 10:30. It's all the same anyway.
Today was a good day. We met a man named Cristiano who was a golden contact. We taught him a first on the street and gave him a Book of Mormon. He was very excited and interested in everything we shared. Unfortunately he's only here for the military and will be going back to his other city in the next couple of weeks. We invited him to church and he said he'll come and also invite his friends.
He was really an awesome guy. I wish we would get the chance to teach him, but alas that will go to some other lucky missionaries. He'll definitely be baptised though.
We wanted to have a little festa for new years among ourselves in the aptmnt. but the night was a little crazy and left us tired. It will be nice to get to bed. I look forward to hearing the news from my family about what happened and if Y2K happened or not. I thought this whole 2000 thing would be big stuff, but really it's just like any other year.
But the year 2000 will be dedicated to service to the Lord in full. That's something exciting to think about. (Also today my senior comp made me eat a "Crap-thin" at least that's how it's pronounced. I was worried but it was good)
