Slow week
17-1-00 (Italian date)

Well this last week was kind of slow. We weren't able to meet with anyone from our baptismal potentials, but we ended up making good use of our time.

Today was a good day. We did the mostra in the morning, then had district meeting. The mostra was very effective, we taught 1 3/4 colloqui and gave out 2 books.Tonight we taught 1/2 a collogui to a guy on the vialle who left his wife and family to move in with a filthy rich lady. But now he's regretting it and wants to change.

We called him to repentance and he said he'll come to church soon. (His name was "Natale" - Christmas)

Then we went to a Catholic church to see if we could talk with a Catholic Priest we met at the bus stop the other day. He was from India and spoke like 5 languages including English. But he wasn't at the church, so we taught this other guy who was like the supervisor of the church. He felt the spirit and recognized the beauty of the BoM scriptures, but wouldn't take the book because he's too far entrenched in his traditions and too old to change.

While we were walking out the old man told this guy who was praying in the church to listen to us because we had the beauty of the words of God. So then we taught this other man, Salvatore, a 1st discussion. Salvatore is from Napoli though. He was interested. He said that he was abused when he was young and wanted to know why. Why wasn't God watching over him. That's tough to answer.

We just shared our knowledge that God loves us and it's the fault of men, when thinks like that happen. But there's hope through our Savior Jesus Christ to overcome those things because he knows our pains and knows how to succor his people. We can overcome anything through him.
